CHRISTMAS
Christmas is a religious festival.This festival is celebrated by christians in many of the countries of the world including Sri lanka. Christmas falls on 25th of December every year. Christmas celebrate the birth of jesus christ on this day. They gather round churches and take part in Masses. The christmas day is "A red letter day" in their lives. There are various religious activities in churches to mark this holy day and every thing is done with the direction of priests of respective churches.
Christmas make christmas cakes and numerous kids of puddings for this special festival. Wine is one of the favourite drinks that they like to have on this special day. A cchristmas tree is decorated and iilluminated in every house. Children are very much interested in decorating christmas trees. Children as well as the youth involve in singing christmas carols in churches. They are trained in churches by a choirmaster.Christians engage in many religious activities on this sacred day. Helping poor people, giving them gift items and organizing alms giving are some of such activities. Special food items that they prepare are shared among neighbours. They live very peacefully giving prominence to humanity.
